Boat electrical questions we answer on the phone every week.
Cost, timing, what we service, and how the mobile visit works. If yours is not here, call (501) 214-5882 and ask the technician directly.
What does boat electrical repair cost around North Little Rock?
Our prices are published: a flat $125 dockside diagnostic credited toward the repair, battery system work $150 to $400, bilge pump circuits $150 to $350, gauge troubleshooting $150 to $400, trolling motor wiring $200 to $500, and full rewires $200 to $600. The whole menu with what moves each number is on the cost page, and the invoice matches the quote.
Do I bring the boat to you?
No, the truck comes to the boat: dock, slip, lift, ramp, driveway, storage lot, or barn. The service is mobile by design because most electrical faults need a technician and a meter, not a service bay, and trailering a boat across town for a wiring fault wastes half a weekend.
How fast can you get to a dead boat?
Core-area calls (North Little Rock, Little Rock, Sherwood, Maumelle, Jacksonville) usually schedule inside a few days, and genuine emergencies, a boat dead at the ramp, a bilge pump out on a boat that sits outside, move to the front of the day. Say the urgency when you call and you get an honest time, not a window.
What kinds of boats do you work on?
The whole central Arkansas fleet: bass boats, crappie rigs, jon boats and mud rigs, pontoons, ski boats, runabouts, and the cruisers and houseboats at the river marinas. The electrical systems differ in size, not in kind, and the meter works the same on all of them.
Are you licensed and insured for this work?
Marine electrical repair is an unlicensed trade in Arkansas, no state license class exists for it, so the honest credentials are practice and insurance: we carry liability insurance, follow ABYC marine wiring standards on every job, and use marine-grade materials. Ask any shop you consider what standard their wiring follows; the answer tells you a lot.
Why do boats have so much more electrical trouble than cars?
Vibration, humidity, and sitting. Boats pound across water, live outside in Arkansas humidity, and sit unused for weeks, which corrodes connections and drains batteries. That is also why automotive-store parts fail early on boats: marine wiring is tinned against corrosion and marine connections get sealed, per ABYC standards.
Can you look at my dock wiring too?
Yes, where dock and boat electricity meet: shore power inlets and cords, dock lighting, receptacles, and ground-fault protection. Unprotected shore wiring around freshwater is a documented electric-shock drowning hazard, so GFCI protection is the first thing we verify on any dock call.
What is the winter like for boat electrical work?
Duck season keeps the truck busy through January on rigs and lights, and winter is the smartest install season: graphs, trolling motors, and battery systems done in the cold months fish the first warm weekend. Storage battery maintenance, the cheapest work we do, saves the most money per dollar of anything on the menu.
What is the fastest way to get a quote?
Call (501) 214-5882 with the boat type and the symptom, and text photos of the helm or battery compartment. Most quotes go out the same day off the published menu, and anything measurement changes at the boat gets said before the work, never on the invoice.
The numbers behind every answer live on the cost page. Symptoms are decoded on the troubleshooting page, installs on the electronics page, and everything starts at the homepage.
